A Weekend Poll - Should we cut his hair?

My baby boy is two years old. His curls have been such a cute part of his personality that I don't want to cut them. For over a year they had been pretty tight. Check out this picture or this one. It doesn't matter what he is wearing, the greeters at Wal-Mart have been commenting on how cute "she" is for months. I know it is time, but I am really dragging my feet. So, I thought I would ask you the important question of the day, "Should we cut his hair?" I know he will be just as cute and sweet with a little boys cut where there is no longer a need to constantly brush the hair out of his eyes, but I also know that once we cut it, the curls will be gone for now at least. His older brother had the same curls at two years of age and now his hair is straight as a board. So help us out and play along. Take the poll on my side-bar and let us know what you think. Thanks for your help!

I love the way his curls hang out of his cap.

Wow... that's a toughie. I voted yes, but wanted to elaborate - maybe you could cut it, but not your typical boy haircut (not that short)... ???

ACK! I meant to vote no, and I voted yes!

I love his hair, my son is actually growing his hair out to look like that ;)

Thank you for praying for Emma Grace this last week. I so appreciated your kindness and compassion for a little girl you have never met!

She says thank you too!

I love his hair too. I know it's tough getting the little girl comments. Our 6 yr old had curls like that too. I cut the top and sides some and left the back still curly for awhile. Yes, it did look a bit like a mullet. :) His birthday is Dec too. That summer we went to Georgia for vacation and not one person mistook him for a girl while we were there. I guess it wasn't unusual there. :) After we got home though we decided it was time and the curls came off. It was a sad day, but he loved his buzz. His daddy decided that if they had to come off it had to be drastic. Many people didn't even recongize him at first. Sorry for the novel. Brings back a lot of memories for me. Let us know your decision.

I was going to say the same thing as hannahjoy. Cut but not really short. He does look adorable though. I loved the pic of him peeking over the deck. How sweet was that!

Can't you just cut the bangs part? Those curls are just too cute! I hate it when they start growing up! It happens soooo fast! Blessings!

He looks adorable, but I voted yes.

My little guy is 2 1/2 and he had cute little curls in the back, but I cut them when he was maybe 15 months? It's still wavy.

You should have added another choice, though, and it's the one I would have chosen: "Do what you want."

I voted yes,but I think just a trim...keep it kinda long, but trimmed enough that it is not in his eyes. He has beautiful hair. Jack Henry had his first cut at about 18 months, but I always tell her to leave his long.

Cracking up at The Dad.

His curls are wonderful, love them. But we have had to keep trimming Tyler's up just to make sure he doesn't hurt himslef because he can't see. HA! I vote to cut it, and if you do, get ready for him to grow up by about two more years!

Still giggling over the picture of him peeking over the deck.

he is so georgous! it's tough to do.... I voted no. I still love his hair...and only because when he is older he will choose how he wants to wear it...now, he has no say! :)

Oh, don't cut them all! Leave a few in the back. I voted "no" to cutting it all off, and vote "yes" to a trim.
Love ya,
Jana

Regretably, I voted yes to cut. I LOVE his curls, but I understand the "she" thing gets real old after awhile. It is so hard too when THE DAD wants to go one way when you aren't sure. And, knowing he is the baby, the last one. Oh, what a hard decision!! I feel for you.

p.s. next time I'm back, I'll spend a few hours in your house if you don't mind, and I'll take lots of pictures.

He's so cute but I still voted "yes". He'll be just as cute no matter what length of hair he has, I think.

I think his curls should stay- just a lil longer. Like T said: You have the say now- later you prolly wont. But whatever you decide I know he'll be cute either way!

Hi Chris, My younger son had those exact curls - that exact color. I couldn't make myself get them cut off. However, we were in a store once and a lady thought he was a little girl. My husband insisted it was time!!
Having said that - if it was up to me I'd leave them just a little while longer. They grow up so fast any way. Don't you wish you could make time stand still?
Have a blessed sunday.

I voted. Thanks for letting us "play along!" :-)

I voted "No" because I haven't seen the curls yet and I would like you to wait. Is that selfish or what.
So we need to visit soon.
