Welcome Summer!

  • We slept in...(thunder, lightening, and wind last night helped a lot!)
  • My morning quiet time was not so quiet
  • I have already listened to two or three (I lost count) disagreements
  • Pancakes were the breakfast of choice this morning and the kitchen looks like it.
  • My house has been invaded. Every room has the remnants of a school year completed.
  • My son informed me this morning that his shoes have had holes in the bottom of them for the last two weeks, but it didn't matter because his 5th grade class still won the kick-ball tournament.
  • The three year old is thoroughly confused and doesn't understand why he can't watch his usual dose of Dora the Explorer.
  • The kids have asked 138 times if they can go to the pool

Welcome Summer!

Yup, definately summertime! But the plans still will fit right in there just fine. Keep the camera clicking.

And somehow, I think you are keeping your cool through it all much better than I would!

ha ha 138? that is funny!! by that time I would be telling them that if they asked again I will break into the pool and personally drain it myself ;-) (I have used that threat in regards to the pool at the "W") um, i mean that gentle guidance technique..... not that I am recommending it in anyway..and usually they just laugh at me and ask again... I am so relieved Theo was able to win the kickball game with his faulty shoes, maybe they are lucky shoes? OR Maybe he just has "game"

Precious moments! Even though they are stressful they are precious just the same! My middle dd and youngest dd have been battling for days...whole days. Today I've resulting to telling them they can't speak to each other. UGH! Precious...just precious I say! With my oldest graduating today its a fresh hard reminder that time flies!!

Hugs and I pray you have much patience over the summer!

Add that too the crazy sweltering heat here and we've got similar summer brewings around our place! I'm looking forward to reading your summer planning posts tomorrow...

Have a great week!

Yeah but have they busted out the "freezer pops" yet? Every year, by the end of the summer, I swear that I will not buy them the next year and I always do. Plastic all over the yard and you have to have scissors to get them open.

I love this post Chris, it's so true. Especially quiet time not being to quiet.

Today is our last day of school (thank goodness!) Summer won't look much different for me, since I work outside the home. But, my girl will be at home with Daddy when he's off. And we'll be able to spend our evenings on the ball field without worrying about bedtime or homework. That's enough for me!
