Tonight my husband and I went out to do some Christmas shopping and we left our kids at home with our fifteen year old daughter in charge. We gave them some simple instructions; clear the table after you finish eating, put the baby to bed at 7pm, everyone may go downstairs together and watch Polar Express after dinner and finally, call us if there are any problems. We were gone three hours and came home to this
Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk complete with a sign (click on the picture to read what they wrote). But the best part was this.....NO DISHES AFTER ALL THE BAKING.

What darlings! What a nice surprise, complete with clean sink, that they made for you!
You can't beat that! How nice! Ah, someday my children will be able to stay home by themselves (as a look off dreamily)!
AHHH! How sweet is that! They must have terrific parents!
"And her children shall rise up and call her blessed" comes to mind. What a wonderful surpirse to come home to--to see the fruit of the spirit displayed in your children as they seek to show love and kindness. I'm guessing that this is a reflection of what they see in their parents. Thanks for sharing!
How sweet! Chris, here is my e-mail address: ladiesofgrace@cleaninter.net. E-mail me and then I will share the Christmas Coffee info with you and maybe we can even talk over the phone too if you want. Julie
What sweethearts!

How sweet! That just warmed my heart tonight - thank you for sharing.
OK, just for fun.....try the same thing in JULY! Do you think it had anything to do with two weeks to Christmas?????
And my opinion is- no. I know your kids and they would do exactly what they did any month of the year. They ADORE their parents. I've seen it time and again.
Please pass a cookie.
hey Chris!
I didn't know you had a blog! Cool!
You have great kids!
Really enjoyed reading through your blog. Encouraging and uplifting. We all need a dose of that from time to time. My husband and I are missionaries. 21 years on the field. Have raised 5 children. My baby is 18. Looking forward to visiting again for more words of encouragment.
Blessings,
